SCALE

SCALE (Strengthening C-ITS Adoption and Lining-up across Europe) is a 52-month, 76-million-euro project that brings together 88 partners from 4 different countries (France, Italy, Spain, Austria) and is co-financed (50%) by the European Union's Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) program. SCALE aims to increase the deployment of C-ITS (Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems) services and support the adoption of intelligent transport systems.

Codognotto Italia SPA is participating as a partner in the SCALE project with the goal of promoting the adoption and testing of innovative and collaborative technologies in the C-ITS domain for bidirectional data exchange between transport vehicles and road and highway infrastructure. The project involves collaboration with IVECO, TIM, Italy's leading highway operators, and other prestigious partners.

The main activities of Codognotto in the project include:

• Installation of OBU on vehicles. This enables data exchange with road infrastructure (V2V and V2I).
• Implementation of an operational platform for event reception, integrated with cloud services within the application ecosystem.
• Integration dashboard: Implementation of dashboards to integrate the new operational platform into our ecosystem (proprietary data lake) to analyze received events and impacts on transportation.
• Within the platform, artificial intelligence algorithms will be implemented to analyze data received from road infrastructures, detected by “on board units”, and combined with operational data to enable dynamic re-routing.

Each of these activities will help us optimize our transportation operations, enhance road safety by assisting drivers, reduce emissions through route optimization, and provide better services to our clients.
