At Codognotto, we operate with over 1,000 transport units managed by our dispatchers, 1132 semi-trailers, and over 760 container units available for intermodal transportation.
Since 2014, we have embarked on a transition from diesel to alternative fuels. From that point, we haven’t stopped and have continued to invest in new technologies in our pursuit of offering a more environmentally friendly service. We exclusively use state-of-the-art vehicles, powered by fuels like HVO and Bio-LNG, a diesel derived from organic waste that nearly eliminates emissions.
Codognotto is looking towards the future of freight transport with both electric and hydrogen solutions. Since February 2025, our company fleet has incorporated two electric long-haul vehicles, while we continue our testing of hydrogen technology.
Fuels and Technologies Looking to the Future
HVO
HVO is Eni's Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO), a 100% diesel made from renewable raw materials. Compared to traditional fuel, HVO contributes to a reduction in CO2 emissions by up to 90%.
ELECTRIC
We are testing electric vehicles for maneuvering activities and short-range distances. Starting from June 2025, 2 new full-electric vehicles will be deployed on long-haul routes.
HYDROGEN
We collaborate with a panel of companies from the energy and automotive sectors to test hydrogen vehicles in the France-Italy territories.

In addition to the legally required internal training program, the Codognotto training plan includes specific instruction on load securing, tachograph use, and a safe driving course. Through regularly scheduled questionnaires, the Safety department also measures work-related stress, assessing whether the working and environmental conditions are suitable for normal work activities.
